Linton Roots, Stadium Lights: Adamic’s Josiah Pletch Goes Behind the Scenes of Winter Jam with Disciple (FREE ARTICLE)

The journey from the quiet, familiar streets of Linton, Indiana, to the bustling, high-stakes music corridors of Tennessee wasn't a sudden impulse, it was a calling that had been simmering for years. For the members of Adamic, the decision crystallized in early 2023. They realized that to truly honor the music they were creating, they needed to be closer to the heartbeat of the industry and their producer, Andrew Stanton.

Leaving home meant leaving security, but as they packed their gear and watched their hometown fade in the rearview mirror, they felt a profound sense of peace. That exact moment of transition, the mixture of grief, adrenaline, and hope, became the soul of their song "Waving." It wasn't just a move; it was a "personal chapter turning in a big way," a leap into the unknown that has now placed them exactly where they need to be.

Now, that journey has led one of their own, Josiah, into the heart of one of the biggest tours in Christian music: Winter Jam.

From Small Stages to Stadium Lights

While Adamic continues to craft their new record in their new Tennessee home, Josiah has been getting a masterclass in the "business" of music by working on the crew for the legendary rock band Disciple. Moving from the DIY scene in Linton, where being "guaranteed a sound system" was a luxury, to the massive scale of the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida, has been a culture shock in the best way.

"Honestly, the hospitality has been amazing," Josiah says. "Winter Jam creates a real community mindset. Adamic has played shows where we weren't even sure we’d get paid. Seeing a tour of this size feed everyone three meals a day and focus so much on the well-being of the artists and crew... it blows my mind."

The "Marathon" Routine

A typical day for Josiah on the Winter Jam tour is a grueling but rewarding marathon:

Watching the crowd in a stadium-sized arena react to Disciple has been a transformative experience. Whether it’s the "screaming intensity" of their heavy tracks or the Grammy-nominated worship of "Firm Foundation," Josiah watches from the wings with a sense of pride, and a vision for Adamic’s future.

"I would love to bring our own vision to a stage this big one day," he admits. "We’ll be there one day."

Staying Grounded in Tennessee

Despite the fast-paced world of Nashville and the high energy of touring, the roots of Adamic remain firmly planted in Indiana soil. The band’s name, derived from the "Adamic language," the universal tongue spoken between God and Adam, reflects their belief that music is the world's one true shared language.

Working with Andrew Stanton (guitarist for Disciple) as their producer has sharpened their sound into something professional and meticulous. Andrew didn't try to change who they were; instead, he emboldened them to be more authentically "Adamic."

"We still feel very in touch with the 10-year-old kids we used to be," the band shares. "That keeps us together and optimistic."

How to Support the Journey

Adamic is currently in the mixing stage of their new album, a record they describe as an "autobiographical exploration of discovering a new way of life." For the first time, they are moving toward a Vinyl LP release.

You can help them cross the finish line:

As they navigate the lights of Tennessee and the rigors of the road, Adamic carries a piece of Linton with them, proving that no matter how big the stage gets, you never forget where you started.
