Greene County — The annual Voices for Kids Open House and Silent Auction is returning to the Greene County Courthouse on Friday, December 5, 2025, offering a full day of community giving, entertainment, and support for local children involved in the welfare system.

The event will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the first floor of the courthouse, and all proceeds will directly benefit children in Greene County who have been affected by abuse or neglect and are currently involved with the court or CASA programs.

Organized by Greene County CASA Director Amber Spicer, the fundraiser helps ensure that vulnerable children in the community receive the assistance, advocacy, and resources they need during difficult times.

Silent Auction & Gift Basket Contest

The silent auction will feature a wide variety of donated items, including themed gift baskets created by individuals, community groups, businesses, and organizations throughout Greene County. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid throughout the day, with all funds going directly back into services for local children.

In addition to the auction, the 14th Annual Greene County Gift Basket Contest will also take place. Participants can decorate and donate a gift basket for the contest, with a prize awarded to the basket that receives the highest bid. Gift baskets should be delivered to the CASA office by December 1, 2025.

Anyone interested in participating in the contest or donating items can contact Amber Spicer at (812) 384-2036.

A Community Effort for Local Kids

Spicer emphasized that every donation and every shared post helps spread the word about the event and strengthens support for Greene County children in need.

“All proceeds will go directly to Voices for Kids, which benefits children involved in the Greene County Court and CASA program due to abuse or neglect."

The event will also include entertainment and refreshments, creating a welcoming and festive environment as the community comes together to support its most vulnerable youth.
